The first family media server

Take your kids off the algorithm.

Chompy is a streaming service that only plays what you put in it. It runs on a Mac Mini in your house. You pick every title. Your kids see nothing else.

The media you let in your home is one of the most important decisions you'll make.

Unfortunately, most of that decision-making was taken away from us, one subscription at a time.

Until now.

We're parents. We built Chompy because we got tired of fighting for control of our own kids' screens.

The platforms won't fix this. They can't. Their business model is engagement — not enrichment. The only way to win is to stop playing their game and build your own.

So we did.

How it works

1

Runs on a Mac Mini.

Plug it in, install Chompy. It runs quietly on your shelf. No Docker, no server rack, no IT degree.

2

Tell Chompy what to add.

“Add Bluey and Planet Earth to Maya's world.” Chompy finds it, downloads it, and puts it on her shelf. One sentence instead of six applications.

3

Hand them the remote.

Your kids open the app and see their World. No login. No profile picker. No friction between them and the story.

Every person in your family gets their own World.

Maya's World has Bluey, Planet Earth, and a shelf called “Bedtime Stories.” She can't see Dad's World. Dad can't accidentally play something from hers.

Maya's World
The Hedgerow • “Autumn Walk”
Bedtime Stories
Starry Pond
Meadow Song
Ember Lodge
Tidepool

Every feature the big platforms use to keep your kids watching, we removed on purpose.

No Autoplay

When an episode ends, it ends. No countdown. No “up next.” The silence is the feature.

No Recommendations

Chompy never suggests anything. You decide what's on the shelf. Nothing is trying to keep anyone watching.

No Data Leaving Your House

Chompy's AI runs locally on your Mac. Your library, your conversations, your family's viewing habits — none of it touches a server.

No Account Required for Kids

Your 4-year-old opens the app and sees her World. That's it. No login screen standing between her and a bedtime story.

Every hour your kids spend on algorithm-driven content is an hour someone else chose for them. Not because they care about your kid — because your kid's attention is inventory.

The stories they grow up on become the stories they carry. You get to decide whether those are stories worth carrying.

Imagine it's 6pm again.

You're making dinner. Your kid is watching something on the iPad.

But this time, you chose it. Every title on that screen is something you'd watch with them. When the episode ends, it ends — and she looks up.

That's Chompy.

Movies and shows they'll thank you for twenty years from now, on every screen in your house.

Chompy runs on a Mac Mini with an M4 chip. It streams to iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV over your home network. Everything stays on your hardware. No cloud. No subscription to us. You own it.

We're letting families in a few at a time.

No spam. No algorithm. Just one email when there's a spot for your family.
